By now, most people know that bathrooms and kitchens can make or break the sale of a house. A high end bathroom with beautiful aesthetics and expensive looking functional materials and appliances can raise the price of a house way beyond what the bathroom actually cost to build. If you are building a house, renovating a bathroom, or just wanting to add a few nice touches to an existing bathroom space, consider adding a nice custom touch with an electric towel rail.
A towel heating device, although no longer new and novel, is still one of those extra pieces in a bathroom that can make a buyer, or a guest in the house, take notice. The main purpose of an electric heated chrome towel rail is, of course, to warm the towels, so that instead of wrapping a cool towel around yourself, you can luxuriate in a fluffy cocoon of warmth as you exit the shower or bath. However, in addition to being warmers, most of the devices also look modern, and add an element of interest to an otherwise cold bathroom wall.
Of course, you need to consider the existing or soon-to-exist space and all the elements already in place. Although the rail does not have to exactly match, it should somewhat coordinate with the rest of the space, and also needs to fit in the space. A chrome towel rail will look great with other chrome fixtures, and there are many different designs available. One of the most popular designs is a curved, double-S shape, which can hold several towels on one rack but needs only one electric hookup. There are also ladder-shaped designs, single rails, C-shapes, or rectangles available. For a nice coordinated look, a large electric bath towel rail can be complimented with a smaller heated hand towel rail. If you have the space but want some versatility, a stand-alone version is also available, and can hold lots of towels or apparel.
Another outstanding place to put one of these racks is in an outdoor spa or sauna. Again, especially on a cool evening dip, you will appreciate the warmth and comfort a warm robe or towel can provide. Again, guests will be impressed. A stand-alone feature is great for this type of setup, as it can be easily unplugged or removed when not in use.
Most of these elements start at several hundred dollars each, and obviously require a place to connect to the electrical source. This may seem expensive or difficult at first, but just remember, not only will it be beautiful and welcome on cold winter days, most bathroom additions, if done correctly, will earn you dollars on your pennies in resale value. Unlike a pricey roof, a nice pricey bathroom will be used, noticed, and appreciated, both by yourself, guests, and eventually by potential buyers.
