Using curtains around your bathtub can be a fashion statement in your bathroom. They can be used to draw attention to or hid a particular feature of your tub or shower (depending on what you are trying to achieve). Everyone knows that the kitchen and bathroom are key factors in selling or renting a home or apartment. Use the right shower curtain and you could sell your home that much faster.
If you have an older home in which the bathtub could use some resurfacing but just don’t have the extra cash to do so, purchase an extra long shower curtain (also sometimes called an extra wide shower curtain) in a calm soothing color. Drape it to one side with a colored liner opened just slightly to draw the eye away from the shower to other features of the bathroom. When the viewer looks at the pooling curtain, their eye is drawn to the fabulous bathtub.
Shower curtains; whether they are vinyl or fabric generally come in a standard size of 72″ x 72″. If trying to achieve a different look with the extra long shower curtain you will find them in lengths of 84″, 92″, and even 120″. These very long curtains (120″) can be used to make a small bathroom appear larger. By hanging the curtain high up on the wall, it gives the appearance of a higher ceiling and therefore a larger room.
Not only do shower curtains add spark to a bathroom, the shower curtain rings can do so as well. Curtain rings are no longer just clean plastic with snap features. You can find them in colors, shapes, animal shapes, sports team logos, kids characters, just about any theme used to decorate the bathroom. Note that with extra long shower curtains comes the need for an extra long shower curtain rod, so don’t forget to take that into account!
