There’s something about doing up and renovating your bathroom that really adds a touch of class to your home. Most people (although they won’t admit it) judge your home by the state of your bathroom (that both means the cleanliness and the way that it’s decorated). For this reason (and because I like them) I like to have luxury shower curtains in my bathroom (and wherever I shower). Shower curtains can discolour in a short amount of time (especially the cheap and bad quality ones) so it’s usually best to get something that both looks nice and will also stand the time. Luxury shower curtains aren’t just for looking good (although they do) – they’re also for providing long term value. Since you’ll be able to keep them for a number of years you’ll most likely end up spending less money on one luxury shower curtain than on a whole load of inexpensive and poor quality ones. In addition, think of the hours that you’ll waste picking out new shower curtains that could be spent doing other things, such as drinking beer, playing sports, seeing friends or whatever you like doing in your spare time that you enjoy!
One of the keys to finding a cheap luxury shower curtain is to have patience and to not jump at the first offer (or the first curtain) that you see. Obviously most companies won’t want to sell these high value items on the cheap, so it can often take a bit of looking to find the kind of offer that you’re looking for. Despite lots of people now buying houses and building bathrooms with fitted showers with enclosed glass (or something that looks like glass), the need for curtains is greater than ever. Yes, it is true that the percentage of houses that have the traditional bath with shower combo has gone down, but the increase in the worldwide population (increase is an understatement – it’s been an explosion) has lead to more people needing showers and thus more shower curtains, poles, setups and everything that goes with it.
It’s a fairly odd industry and world that we live in, but just like in the fashion world there are designers and models going about trying to revolutionise the look of the luxury shower curtain world. They do this mainly by designing new and different patterns and by using different colours. The main trend at the moment seems to be using bright colours and having dotted patterns that give a very bright and friendly vibe to the room.
Remember when looking for luxury shower curtains that they are essentially the focal point of your bathroom, and that they need to match everything else. In addition to this, your shower curtain makes a statement about who you are and what you’re about, so you want it to be making the right statement. That being said, don’t get too caught up and over serious about it and remember it for what it is – just another piece of furniture in your house. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, but it can be a fun exercise to choose something that you like!
